In loving memory of

Teresa Neate

A life taken too soon by thyroid cancer.

Teresa was diagnosed with Medullary Carcinoma of the Thyroid (MTC) in December 2014. After a positive six months Teresa started to lose feeling in her legs one night at home and was rushed into surgery. By this stage she was completely paralysed from the waist down. She had a vertebrae removed from her spine and spent an agonising ten weeks in hospital and rehabilitation.

Through determination and courage, Teresa remarkably walked out of hospital. Unfortunately the cancer on her spine returned and Teresa returned to hospital in April 2016. Heartbreakingly, she did not come home and passed away on September 19th, 2016.

Teresa was an incredible mother to her two kids Chris & Suz, and loving wife to husband Geoff. She adored her two fur babies Sammy & Monty. She also loved her job as a Kindergarten Assistant in the Early Learning Centre at Carey Grammar and was known amongst colleagues for her wicked sense of humour.

Whilst she didn’t get to meet her two grandchildren Olivia and Freddie, they will grow up knowing how much she loves them.
