The Exhibition

A powerful display of the unseen impact of cancer

In 2018, a simple email changed everything. Photographer Kim Landy reached out after seeing our work during Tidy’s Tour, a moment that truly lit a spark for us. For the first time, someone without a personal link to The Aftershock was moved by our mission.

Over a coffee with Kim, we shared our vision: to show the world the deep, often invisible impact of cancer — the aftershock that ripples through patients, families, researchers, surgeons, and nurses alike.

16 Cancers, 16 Stories

Together, we envisioned an exhibition documenting 16 powerful cancer stories — each representing one of the 16 high-mortality rate cancers we focus on.

While we dream of funding research for every one of these cancers, we knew we could start by raising critical awareness. And thanks to Kim’s friends at Cheer Squad, we expanded the project with a heartfelt short film, donated purely out of passion for our cause.

Our purpose

We wanted to show the community that cancer doesn't have a single face.

Cancer’s toll isn’t always visible, for the patient or those around them

Through photographs and film, we aimed to tell the real stories — the ones you might not see at first glance — and change perceptions forever.

An unforgettable night

On Saturday, October 26, 2019, we premiered the exhibition to a sold-out crowd of 160 attendees. The night exceeded all expectations, raising over $22,000 for cancer awareness and support.

We’re endlessly grateful to Kim Landy, Jared Kettle, and Jacob Williams for their incredible creativity, our generous sponsors who made the event possible and most importantly, the brave participants who opened their hearts and lives to us.
