Tidy's Tour

Our annual fundraising bike ride is taking a breather — but don’t worry, we’re gearing up for something exciting in the future

In 2018, Chris "Tidy" Neate set out on an epic cycling journey from Perth to Melbourne – a massive 3,500 km in just 21 days. Alongside him every pedal of the way was his dad, Geoff, as support crew. Together, they braved wind, rain, injuries, glass-filled motorhomes, and the great Australian outback – all to raise funds and awareness for high mortality rate cancers. Since then, Tidy’s Tour has taken a few different forms and has raised over $62,000.

The evolution of Tidy's Tour

Chris battled through intense weather, truck turbulence, injury from a railway crossing fall, and relentless headwinds on the Nullarbor

They met countless kind strangers – like a café ambulance officer who gave supplies, and a wheat farmer who donated $150 despite facing drought

"Living in Melbourne, you forget the noise. On the Nullarbor, it’s silent. Chris was doing all the hard work, but I got to see Australia in a way few ever do. We met incredible people, and every story reminded us why we were doing this. Thank you to everyone who supported, donated, and cheered us on. You were the fuel behind the ride"

The team showed incredible spirit and teamwork, powering through Melbourne’s signature four seasons in a day
